I’ve learned you don’t need all those snazzy electrical effects to put on a good show.

Before and after show talks
Audiences under 8 years retain the magic of theatre for some time after the performance. We find that a Question and Answer session at the end of the performance tends to dispel the magic and do not recommend one. Ideas for follow-up activities are contained in our Teacher Resource Packs.

Older students bump back into the real world more readily and we are happy to answer questions after the show.  It’s most valuable if teachers ask the children before the show to start thinking of interesting and relevant questions about the stories, drama, acting, touring and so on.

When working with teenagers 12 – 18 years (both English speakers and students learning English as an additional language) we have found that a short introductory talk before a performance breaks the ice and engages them from the beginning. We talk about the stories, the Brothers Grimm, and elements of theatre and drama.
